Lesson Plan with Reflection
Although I carefully plan lessons, sometimes the lessons and/or assessments do not
work as planned. The reflections I write on lesson plans demonstrate my willingness to continually reflect on my practice
in promoting student learning and adjusts instruction accordingly.
I typically reflect on the effectiveness of my daily lesson plans. Many time,
I write the reflections the plans themselves. If part of a lesson did not work for one class, I will make adjustments to it
before I teach the lesson again. This artifact is one example of my reflection. Here I adjusted the lesson for students who
are not prepared for class by ensuring the lesson objective is clear in the final assessment.

Reflection Blog
During my first two months teaching at Northwest High School, I kept a reflection blog to reflect
on my performance in the classroom. This blog gave me the opportunity to write about behavior issues in the classroom
and assess my own performance. While writing, I recognize what behavior management techniques work with a particularly
unruly class.
Although I do not keep up with this blog as regularly as I did when I began teaching, I plan
to continue writing it and reflecting on each new class I teach.
